Nestled within the lush green jungle gorge of Tembungan, Aling Aling boasts a magnificent double waterfall along with three smaller cascades, where visitors can indulge in cliff jumping, waterslides, and natural swimming pools. It truly is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the northern part of Bali. This travel guide will equip you with all the essential information you need to know before embarking on your journey to this spectacular spot, including directions on how to get there.
What to Look Forward to – Aling Aling Waterfall
Aling Aling features four distinct waterfalls, perfect for photography, cliff diving, and natural waterslides.
If you plan on indulging in cliff diving, staff members will require you to hire a guide and wear a life jacket. I cannot fault this regulation, as there have been incidents where people have injured themselves by diving from the wrong spots.
Aling Aling is part of the Tembungan Secret Garden, a shaded natural area in northern Bali that actually encompasses a total of eight different waterfalls, along with canyons and terraced fields.
In future guides, I plan to introduce all eight Tembungan waterfalls, but for now, let's focus solely on the four waterfalls of Aling Aling.
The names of these waterfalls are as follows:
Note: You can easily walk through these waterfalls, as they are only a few minutes apart. An informational signboard at the entrance provides clear directions.
Read on to learn more about each of the Aling Aling waterfalls!
Aling Aling Waterfall
This is the main waterfall of Aling Aling. It's an epic double waterfall, standing at an impressive height of approximately 35 meters (115 feet).
Photographs can't fully capture the charm of this waterfall. It's vast and towering, with water mist spraying everywhere. Be cautious of your electronic devices!
Cliff diving is not an option here (it's too big and powerful), but you can take a dip in the swimming pool if you're up for it.
Keroya Waterfall
This waterfall features a diving board (5-meter jump), or you can circumnavigate to the top of the waterfall and slide down. It's incredibly fun!
Kambar Waterfall
This is another massive double waterfall with cliffs ranging from 10 to 15 meters high. If you're daring enough, give it a try! It looks even taller in reality than in photographs.
Be extra cautious this time, as the drop is significant and you'll need to land in deep water. Your guide can point out the ideal spot for you.
Puchuk Waterfall
This is the last and most serene of the four waterfalls. Cliff diving is not allowed here, but you can swim or take photos.
